Beaches
Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach
See Map

In the 70s the beach has been considered as a stronghold for the hippies and freaks, today it is the absolute scene-meetingpoint, because the best clubs of the island are positioned on this beach (Paradise club and Cavo Paradiso). Take a naked bath and revealing love life fulfilled a magnetic effect on equally minded ones and not less of that has contributed the myth that surrounds the island. Mainly cool Partypeoples determine the beach life. Many of them make the residence at Paradise to a every day and night ritual of their vacation. Almost all water sports are possible during the summer months. There are bus connections till the early morning. However, Paradise can also be reached by car or scooter without any problems.

Super Paradise

Super Paradise
See Map

Till this day Super Paradise has an excellent reputation as one of the most craziest places of Greece, a centre of the gay's scene and oasis for all faddists of FKK. In the meantime heteros and textile bearers share the 250-m-long beach, only in the western beach segment you will see mainly naked men bodies sunbathing. The bay framed by rocks is a little smaller than Paradise Beach and belongs to the nicest ones of the island. Since the narrow access road to Super Paradise Beach cannot be driven by busses, the nearby parking bays are quickly taken. More comfortably you can reach the beach by boats, which are leaving from Plais Gialos several times a day.

Paranga

Paranga
See Map

The beach surrounded by rocks is only 200 m long but it's covered by the finest sand. During the summer you will barely find a free spot even if it is more laid-back than at the nearby Paradise Beach. At Paranga Beach the seeing and to-be-seen is completely capitalised. It's the get-together of fancy clubbers. During the season half-hourly bus-connections to Mykonos city. Several times a day boats arrive coming from Ornos and Platis Gialos.

Elia

Elia
See Map

Elia Beach is the most eastern beach that is accessed by boats. From Mykonos city there are bus-connections. The ride by car lasts approx. 30 minutes. The about 400 m long beach is picturesquely framed by rocks. Even though the picture is dominated by sunshades and canvas chairs during the summer, it is overall very pieceful. Big Beachparties remain spared. During the main season a water sport station offers the possibility to drive water-ski or jet ski. On both sides of the bay there are tiny sandy beaches attached that are mainly visited to skinny-dip .

Platis Gialos

Platis Gialos
See Map

Once meeting place of the rich and prominent from all over the world, Platis Gialos has developed to one of the most popular destination for all-inclusive vacationers. No other beach of the island offers a similar choice in hotels and taverns what leads to close togeher lined up sunshades and sunloungers during the summer months. The nearby beaches Agia Anna and Paranga are within walkin distance. During the day many guests of the hotels in the city are using the bus-connections to Platis Gialos to reach one of the boats starting here to the beaches in the south. The boats are heading to Paranga Paradise and Really Paradise.

Kalafati

Kalafati
See Map

The sandy beach of Kalafati belongs with it`s 900 meters to the longest ones of the island. Thanks to it`s isolated position it is probably also counted to be the most quiet bath place. Due to the special wind ratio the beach has developed to a popular surfing district. While the wind blows mostly with wind forces from 2 to 5 in the mornings which allowes the beginners good conditions, it can reach up to wind forces of 6 and more in the afternoon which is more ideal for professionals and advancers. In some distance to the shore, the waves tower up to a height of 2 to 4 meters.

Panormos

From the street to Ano Mera shortly after the second gas-station diverges a narrow street to the bay of Panormos. The way leads to the lake of Marathi, an artificial storage-lake. Eventually in the end, after 6 km you arrive at the curved bay of Panormos partly lined by dunes. With a length of 800 m it represents a real alternative for the party scene to the sometimes overcrowded beaches of the south coast. You have to renounce a bus-connection as well as an extensive infrastructure.

Ornos

Lee beach on the north of Korfos, with regular bus service, considerable amount of hotels, restaurant. Small fish port and ideal anchorage for yachts. There is a SCUBA diving school. It’s the first in a series of southern beaches that follow.

Water sports facilities such as scuba diving are available at Psarou. The beach is located at 5 kilometres from the island’s capital and is reachable by local bus.

Agrari

Agrari
See Map

Agrari Beach is less popular than its neighbour Elia and much calmer. As with many of the beaches you approach from on high and then down a long, thin, steep road. There is a smallish café and two sets of beach loungers with shades. There are many nudists on this beach. From this beach you can walk over the rocks to the left to visit Elia beach. Just beware of nudists on the way!

Agios Stefanos

Agios Stefanos
See Map

Agios Stephanos beach is the closest to the capital of Mykonos, located 1 kilometres north of Troulos and the new port. It is protected from the winds and offers various water sports facilities as well as some taverns and hotels. Agios Stephanos is very popular and gets very crowded during summer time. This beach is about the length of a soccer pitch.

Agios Ioannis is situated in the south-western coast of the island of Mykonos. It is the most beautiful beach of the area and has soft sand and crystal-clear blue waters. From this beautiful beach visitors will enjoy a magnificent view over the archaeological island of Delos. Some fine accommodations, fine fish taverns and cafe are surrounding the beautiful beach and its area.

Lia

It has an overwhelming view of the island of Naxos, offers protection from the wind, bountiful sand with crystal clear water and plenty of deck chairs combined with the friendly environment and intenable service of La Luna restaurant, you definetly want to come again and again.

Ftelia

Ftelia
See Map

Ftelia is a beautiful beach north orientated, receiving the Meltemi (the Cycladic wind coming from north) and for that it is particularly famous among the windsurfers. Follow a weaving road down to the beach. As you approach the asphalt comes to an end and for the final distance there is just sand. A very peaceful and uncrowded beach; which is somewhat surprising because it is quite accessible from the Chora.
